AGM 2018 – vote on proposed new Constitution

With regret the Exec must advise that a vote on the proposed new constitution cannot be held as had been intended at the AGM on Monday 16th July.

Unfortunately there has been a procedural shortcoming in the format used to notify the new Constitutional proposals to the membership and which will require the matter to be re-advertised for consideration at a separate Extra-ordinary General Meeting. It is expected that this further meeting may be held during August and the intention is still to present fundamentally the same new form of Articles and Rules for consideration by the membership.

However, the AGM will still take place on Monday when all of the remaining agenda items (ie; Officers reports, election of Officers, etc) will be considered in the normal manner. There will be an opportunity for discussion of the new Constitutional proposals.

The procedural error and the associated delay in being able to resolve this outstanding matter is deeply disappointing but in the meantime members are asked for their kind forbearance and also to familiarise themselves fully with the detail of the proposals. The success of the new proposals, and indeed the future of the Club, is wholly dependent upon the general membership taking a significantly greater involvement in the Club’s management and we look forward to your assistance in this regard.

The date of the intended EGM will be advertised as soon as ever possible.
