Our first team squad host Medicals in the second Battle of the Roundabout of 2016. Medicals won the previous encounter 35-17, one of only two home losses throughout last season.
The squad is slowly starting to take shape after several players have let for uni and a couple have moved to clubs higher than us. Squad depth is due to return to normal over the next few weeks as players return from injuries, holidays and charity runs.
Squad - Goodman, Dodds, Twentyman, Stewart, Igoe, Merrett, Fearon, Littlefair, Selkirk, Dodd, Wilkes, Nash, Busby, Chater, Parkinson, Steinberg, Ball and Sowter. So only the six changes to the squad from last week which is better than recent games, although it is only Tuesday !
Novos will be hoping for a much better day then the last time out against Medicals. We were outplayed in a poor display.
We are coming off the back of two decent wins so confidence should be high. We will need to be direct early in the hope that creates space for later in the game against a tired defence.
Medicals suffered a heavy defeat last week at Northern. They will have more university support this week and will know that they have won 2 out of the last 3 games.
In other games, the 4th team play Winlaton away and a mixed 2/3's side will play at home vs Nth Shields.
