Novos travel the short distance to Northern this weekend where they look to end a 25 year hoodoo!

Novos suffered a heavy defeat to our new friends from West Leeds last time out, but with some players returning to the squad, Novos may fancy their chance of an upset. Novos last beat Northern, 20-14 en route to the Northumberland Senior Cup Final in 1992! Footage attached. Neil Maxwell, Phil Getty scoring two of the three tries (I can't make out the last try scorer - but the current President, Tommy Wilson assists from Inside Centre *EDIT* I've been reliably informed by Ed Gregory that the try scorer is Rab McEwan!); Aidan Dunston scored a monstrous drop goal to secure the victory.

Despite the heavy defeat last weekend, Novos have won three out of their last four league games. Pete Twentyman, Tom Dias and Luke Menzfeld line up in the front row; Iain Dodds and the mobile Shaun Stewart in behind at lock. Rowntree. Bambrick and Igoe make up a strong back row looking to disrupt the Northern pack. Richard Dixon is welcomed back into the 1st XV at scrum half; his first game since the last game of the season in 2014-15! Greg Humphreyson is at fly half. Jez Nash and Sam Busby are in the centres with a back three of Wollerton, James Parkinson and Rory Duncan. Subs: Steinberg, Foster and Kelly.

Novos 2nd XV host Northern Wanderers at home. the 4th XV taking on Rockcliff IIIs.
