It would appear an all day trip to Halifax last weekend is to be counter balanced this week as many players are unavailable this week for avoidable reasons. Such is the modern rugby player I guess. However, opportunities for other players to express themselves and continue or decent start to the season.

Back come Shuttleworth, Duncan and Cox into the starting forward pack and Porter, Stewart, Hart and Kelly are included in the back line. In addition, Weatherhead and Humphreyson are within the travelling eighteen after not being available for last weeks cup match.

Westoe will be a difficult prospect having taken Durham City's unbeaten record recently before beating Gateshead in their last outing. In recent matches against us they have edged the set piece battle allowing them front foot ball. We will have to show some resilience and fortitude if we are to seek parity in possession and territory.

The group are in a good place though after victories over Old Rishworthians in the cup and winning our last two league matches vs Gateshead and away to Horden and Peterlee.

In other matches, Gareth Bowden's 2nd xv host Westoe 2's whilst the 4's welcome Seghill to Sutherland Park.
