Great week of training under our belts and a strong squad assembled for this fixture at Kingston Pk vs Redcar

We have put in a great week of prep with Rob Vickers and Callum Green from the Falcons helping with our new attacking shape as well as developing our contact skills. In addition, Thursdays session had a huge attendance due to the 2's and 3's having cup plate finals this weekend. Having all 18 It has all created some real positivity ahead of the weekends fixtures.

It is great to see the return of Pete Twentyman and Nick Arbuckle in the pack after long term absence from shoulder injuries. In addition, The first team the return of Old Novo's Jonno Wilkes and Bruno Smith strengthens the back division.

It's a huge game for both sides as Redcar remain in relegation trouble and we probably need one more win to avoid getting dragged into the battle ourselves. In our first game against Redcar and was surprised at the league position as I enjoyed watching them play. Their opening score against us from the kick off remains the best try against us this season. The sides were very even with the final difference being three long distance tries from our pace men.

The game has been moved to Kingston Park as we are expecting a downpour on Saturday morning and we can't afford to miss another Saturday. The season already looks to go till April 28 with a couple of games perhaps to be played mid week including a cup final vs Nth Shields to fit in. Perhaps showing that it was the wrong decision keep the leagues the same size. In my opinion we need to urgently reduce the number of teams in each league, put the county cup as a pre season tournament, put the county championship on the days we were due to play cup matches. That would be a good start to helping players play every league game and still have time for family etc. Rant over.

Great weekend to be a Novos player with an important league match at the home of the Falcons, two plate finals for our 2's and 3's. Up the Vos !
