The senior men look to get back into action this week hopeful of putting out three squads this weekend ! Nth Shields and Morpeth being the venues.

Is it finally here ? Contact rugby looks just around the corner as Novos look to select three squads to go Nth Shields 7s and Morpeth 7's.

Very excited to see Gregor Stirling, Tom Grieves, Joe Tadman and Greg Wills make there club debuts on Saturday. All of them have trained with the club for prolonged periods but without putting the jersey on due to COVID.

Perhaps even more special are the senior debuts for Ben Jubb, Jonty Collins, and Greg Abibu. Great to see the boys integrating into the senior rugby programme - noting that two lads in these squads in Brandon Gilbert and Oli Taylor have already had first team debuts of huge significance. Brandon making his debut in a rare away win in swamp like conditions at Stockton. Oli making his debut in the last game pre COVID against Gateshead and scored with his first touch ! Huge wraps for our youth set up for producing so much talent.

Exciting times ahead for the lads as we look to reignite rugby at Novos with these sevens events. In addition, we have entered the Percy Park tournament on 17th July so contact Magnus Leask if you wish to play. Our final 7's tournament is the very popular Stay Strong Stu 7's at Tynedale on the 31st July.

There are loads of things going on at Novos as we try to reignite rugby - "The Marae" had its first meet up last Tuesday, an exclusive group solely for front rowers did a session with Sean from Team Hamill Physique. In addition, we have completed two sevens based sessions to get ready for the above events. Finally, the club has put together a comprehensive pre season programme starting from Thursday 1st July. Culminating in competitive fixtures via a mini tour to Bridlington on 14th August, home to Westoe on the 21st prior to welcoming Morpeth to Sutherland Park for our county cup fixture on the 28th August.

Exciting times ahead if rugby gets the green light so if you want to be involved get in touch with Magnus Leask on 0790 443 5993. Whether it be to play in any of of four men's sides or you want to contribute off the field.

Up the Vos !
