A welcome feature of the 1st team fixture schedule for 2016/17 has been the return of league fixtures against our well established local friends and rivals from Northern and Westoe.

By way of a curtain raiser for the clash of the big boys that same afternoon, the handsome beasts of Novos Veterans squad are taking on their counterparts from Northern on 22nd October with a midday kick-off.

Under their guise as the 7Cs, Novos Vets squad has an illustrious recent history of regular and successful games at home and abroad and are looking to repeat the highly enjoyable tour to take part in the Saint Sauvain tournament in central France next May. As one of the County's better established Vets teams and befitting of recent efforts by Northumberland RFU to increase the regularity of Vets games in the County, it will be a pleasure to welcome the Northern players, hopefully as part of realising the County's wider ambition towards establishing a regular Vets circuit of socially orientated games.

After re-living their own past glories both sets of players will have the chance to fill the balconies and hopefully enjoy giving noisy advice and support to the "youngsters" in the1st team game.

It should be another great day at Novos so get yourself along to cheer on the teams and enjoy the action.

Novos Vets also have up-and-coming social games against West Hartlepool (twice), Dunkeld Ospreys and are seeking to confirm further fixtures at roughly monthly frequencies on into the new year.
