ROLE DESCRIPTION: COUNTY REPRESENTATIVE

Novocastrians RFC only exists because it has other rugby clubs to play against.

As County Representative, you will represent Novos at County (Constituent Body) level. You will need to give feedback to Northumberland Rugby Union about what’s working well in terms of league and cup competitions, and what could be improved. You will also have to be prepared to raise coaching, volunteering and disciplinary issues. In short, you will help to develop rugby in Northumberland.

What you’ll get out of it:

This role gives you the chance to remain closely involved in the game, helping to develop it at both club and county level. It is a rewarding and responsible position, as Novos will rely on you to represent its views amongst the wider rugby fraternity.
You will be ideally placed to promote to a wide audience, the enjoyment and friendship that being involved in rugby brings, both at club and County level.

Ideally, you will need to be:

Confident and good at communicating
Well acquainted with the structures, playing sections and culture of Novos, and the different teams and competitions they play in
A good listener
Energetic, enthusiastic and organised

What you will do:

You will be part of the Club Executive Committee and ideally (though not essential) will be registered as a Director of the Club at Companies House.
You will report back to the Exec about any developments to the Game at County level.
Liaise with adult male and female, and mini / youth sections of Novos, ensuring you understand any issues with their league or cup competitions, and friendlies.
Help to promote updates and courses relating to Rugby Safe, Refereeing and Coaching.
Work alongside other club officers to coordinate club feedback to the County.
Attend and represent Novos at regular County meetings. You may also ask to be involved in other County sub-committees to which you might feel you have something to offer.
