Snow joke as Alnwicky reigns
Novos made a better fist of it than the scoreline suggests but were forced to concede a bonus point loss to high flying Alnwick.
Alnwick scored 5 tries to defeat bottom of the table Novos as they handled the arctic conditions better and at key times of the game were better organised than Novos.
Novos failed to trouble the scorers but at times looked dangerous as Alnwicks defence held firm and indeed only trailed 13 - 0 until into the 2nd half when they lost both Paul Henderson and Simon Dickinson to injury and were forced to push flanker Ben Merrett into the backs when debutant full back Graeme Jardine was forced to withdraw a period which saw Novos concede 3 converted tries. Novos also had to reshuffle twice due to yellow cards to Liam Savage and Simon Ayre which Alnwick exploited their advantage well. They arent third in this league for nothing!!
Novos must now regroup in time for next weekends tough home encounter with Acklam,
