Acklam vs Novocastrians 1415 on Saturday 9th November
Squad - Andy Hall, Daniel Shuttleworth, Josh Stacey, Tom Cox, Adam MacDonald, Darren Kelly, George Bambrick, Alex Littlefair, Paddy Sowter, Jack Hearn, Shaun Stewart (v. captain) Jez Nash (captain) Eoghan Phillips, Sam Bird, James Bass, Luke Menzfeld, Craig Eales and Ben Kelly.
We travel to Acklam on Saturday looking to blow off some cobwebs sustained from a Saturday off and no training on Tuesday due to our fireworks display. Our hosts sit just three points above us in the league so a good performance could see us leap frog them in the table. We enjoyed two very narrow victories against them last season 40-34 and 38-33. Sure to be another tight contest in what is expected to be heavy conditions on Saturday.
A few changes in the pack as we have gone for extra mobility in the pack as Andy Hall moves into the front row. Back in come Adam MacDonald and Darren Kelly who were not available for the game against Consett. Jez Nash is also available again after a match out and we add further experience with the inclusion of James Bass at fullback.
Congratulations to Josh Stacey who is poised to make his 100th appearance on Saturday. Incredible stat for a young front row player who is sure to end up a club legend should he continue his progress. Jobi has already played for the senior county and last season scored a try for the Centurions in the fixture at East Midlands.
2nd xv vs Alnwick - Jeff Burke, Nicky Yielder, Brendan Thomas, Ian Pratt, Cam Carmichael, Ross Radford, Louis Matthews, Iain Dodds, James Jeffery, Christian Selkirk, Tim Hart, Luke Foster, Ethan Cave, Dom McDonnell, Luke Mitchell, Gus Nye, Blair Tweedie, Alex Cokeley, Zach Weatherhead and Ben Forbes
3rd xv vs Morpeth - James Forbes, Michael Stowe, Alan Pitchford, George Preston, Ben Silk, Josh Kaufmann, Sam Warwick, Stu Wilson, Jonno Martin, Jack Pellew, Nathan Harrap, Mark Hemmings, Charlie Hay, Jayden Hayes, Nathan Squires, Alex Milton, Harri Riddick, Rob Reid, Dan Stalmeister and Bradley Pantrey.
4th xv vs Nth Shields - John Watson, Stevie Thompson, Ian Wood, Scott Leggetter, Chris Brown, Nyasha Katsande, Andrew Chambers, Rhys Gibbons, Matt Willis, Will Evans, Ross Glasper, Ricky Humble, Jack Deegan, Paul Fitch, Jonny Lowes, Dan Guy, Will Darragh, Dan Green, Alex Carr, Andy Finn.
We look forward to speeches at 1800 on Saturday as the club looks to put four sides out again this week. Can we do better than the 2 out of 4 last time out ?
Up the Vos !
