Novos humbled by Prudhoe

This was the poorest showing in many years from Novos but take nothing away from Prudhoe who battled for everything and were FULL value for their win.

An early Novos mistake gifted Prudhoe an early score and whilst we struck back through Dan Bollado and held the lead for the majority of the game – we didn’t deserve it against a side who never stopped working for each other and were on the day the better side.

TWO red cards did nothing to aid Novos cause with the 2 players having already been banned from playing by Novos pending the County disciplinary hearing we will just have to wait and see what punishment the County sees fit to impose. Both players acted out of character and have apologised to the referee for their actions.

So Merry Xmas Prudhoe, I hope the gift of four points at Sutherland Park helps you battle relegation… Having been in that position last season, its very, very tough at the bottom but if they display the level of discipline and graft for each other they showed on Saturday I am sure they will remain in this division for next season without too many problems.

Another word of note, it was nice that a fair few Prudhoe lads stayed till very late at Novos and had a few beers with us at our Xmas Party, in an age where some clubs eat their after match grub and leave straight away its nice to see how some clubs still keep the old values alive and stay and socialise with the opposition (And they didn’t gloat all that much!).

Novos now look to be in a race for 3rd place after being leapfrogged by Seaton Carew and next week will travel to Seaham, who will work just as hard as Prudhoe worked…. What will the response be from Novos?
