Novos Toil Not Enough

Horden arrived with an even stronger side than when we got smashed by them at the start of the season. However, Novos only had seven players in the squad that were on the end of that early season hiding.

This fixture saw a much better start from Novos in defence. After four training sessions working on defence and work ethic, tackles were being made and Horden making mistakes.

It was not until 25 mins that the Novos line was finally breached. The forwards were competing well around the park with the whole pack contributing in the tackle count.

Jack Spoor was yellow carded which led to a few tries as a difficult challenge became even harder. No one blamed Jack though as he again led from the front in the pack.

Generally, Horden were better in most facets of the game but we certainly matched them in effort, heart and desire.

Horden, in the end were too good and scored five tries but this time we made them earn each score.

Thanks go to Jack Pellew for reffing a difficult game as one pack was incredibly dominant at scrum time. What do they feed Horden kids that they don't at Novos ?!

For us, it is noticeable that the effort we are putting in at training is starting to reap the rewards.

Training Tuesday and Thursday this week as normal, followed by a day off fixture wise on Saturday. The 2's and 3's have matches so I expect big support for them from our first team.

A big Jan/Feb coming up against the sides around us. Let's continue to train hard and make sure we are all available for the important fixtures coming up.
