Availability was pretty poor for this fixture and a much changed side ran out to represent Novos. That being said the boys who came up from the seconds were amongst our better players on the day.

Guisborough needed to win to secure a playoff spot. If this happened, Consett (our next opponents) would not be able to get the play off spot and would have nothing to play for in our last match.

There was a pretty big difference in power between the two sides as Guisborough were able to bust Novos tackling on numerous occasions.

The first half was all one way traffic as Guisborough raced to a 52-0 lead.

With pride on the line Novos upped their performance and a more competitive second half ended 17-5 Guisborough with Jack Callaghan scoring Novos only try.

Best of luck to Guisborough in their playoff. If they play anything like they did in this match I am sure they will get across the line this time.

For us, one last game at home vs Consett and only a win will do as Ponteland have now won their last three games. We have everything to play for, they have nothing to play for.
