Semi Final heartache for Novos

Novos were withdrawn from the County cup due to an unfortunate admin error (and we will not be the only side who has made this error) but thank you to Rockliffe who agreed to play this game as a friendly.

Novos looked sharp throughout and won the game comfortably even without skipper Chris Fife and the delay in arrival for poor Luke Daniel and Khan Bernstein following a nightmare metro journey - They still got there albeit via taxi despite not knowing where the ground is and that's a lesson to those who cry off... Good lads!

Tries were scored by lex Leonard (2), Lewis Carr, Ben Melrose, Liam Savage and Mike Cousins

All put their heart and soul into this despite the disappointing anti climax of the game and the stand-out performances were Lex Leonard, Christian Selkirk and and new signing Ollie Dearden in the back row.

Skipper for the day Gus Graham though was a justified Man of the Match

A great achievement to have reached a cup semi final but sadly this year, this is where the cup journey ends. Though regardless of what happened this 2nd team are on the verge of becoming a real quality side and I am sure opportunities will present themselves in future years - I guess this year is one to learn from and take it on the chin.

We might look to try and book a friendly with Morpeth Edwardians victors in the other semi before the seasons out and play out a 'people's final!!'
