Second team go for Shield glory

The super 2s are in their first final in two years after moving up to the Northumberland Cup No 2. They take on Percy Park at Northern in the shield final 4pm KO. The team have really progressed this season after a couple of tough seasons in Candy League 1, they currently sit 4th and are rewarded with the chance to win a trophy against a physical Park side. It should be an exciting game for spectators with two contrasting styles of play on show. A strong front row of Floyd, Whitaker and Graeme starts with Milton in reserve. The second row are the hardworking pair of Salt and Wallace. On the flanks young Cokeley is joined by Dan Hipps who returned this season after breaking his leg in the 3s 2016 cup victory. Captain Ian Pratt is at 8, as he leads a Novos team out in a Northumberland cup final for the 4th year in a row. They say opposites do attract and that would describe our halfback pairing of Selkirk and Rory Duncan. The dynamic centers pairing is students Sam Bird and Robinson. Speed kings Spencer and Kelly, with Wollerton reappearing from where abouts unknown to play fullback. Neil Smith and Liam Owens provide backrow and second row cover. Backs cover is in the form of Armstrong, Luke Mitchell and O’Donoghue. The squad is a perfect blend of youth and experience and confidence is very high after a good training session last night.
