After an initial sleepy 15 minutes resulting in 12 points put against the ferocious 3rds they finally woke up to challenge the Blaydon hordes. After this the 3rds began to test Blaydons defence pushing them up against the 5 metre line but unfortunately unable to finally break through the Blaydon mass.

Shortly before the first half was over Damien Fenix received a potentially deadly blow as he was covering back to soak up some pressure. The sort of blow that would be fatal to a lesser man.

The second half proved that the 3rds really are a sexy group of beasts with a much stronger performance. This half saw more expansive plays coming through the backs and a more dynamic set of forwards with many of the mighty forwards putting in hard work to chase and support the backs in defence and attack.

The Second half saw a number of challenges for the line falling a yard short with the likes of Mr.Desmond leading the short aggressive charges against determined defence.

This half also saw the backs dynamic defence against heavy pressure from Blaydon, however even with the drastic change in performance this still was not enogh to hold back the score.

Most importantly the second half saw the mighty 3rds become a much more competitive side with every one stepping up the work rate and supporting each other. Not a bad start to the season.
