Novos Park the bus

It was a cold crisp north east morning as the great people's republic congregated on the homelands balcony to watch the old war heroes make battle once more. Inspired by the old war heroes being victorious once again, the people's republic travelled to a usually strong Percy park hoping to put last weekends nightmare well and truly behind them.
After a good and efficient warm up, the republic made a strong start to winning a penalty almost immediately from the restart in front of parks posts which was unfortunately missed by angry Irishman Colm O'keefe. This lead a long period of possession for park which after 20 minutes of gutsy Novos defence park finally broke the deadlock as their centre hit a gap in the dog legged vos defence to score under the posts. The conversion was added to give park a 7-0 lead. Novos responded immediately by winning the restart and passing to hooker JP Addison who showed and great bit of pace to run past parks backs to score, O'keefe added the extras to leave the scores all tied up. Parks dominance of possession continued after the restart and good hands from parks back lead to their winger scoring in the corner, the conversion was missed to leave the score 12-7 to park. Park continued to control the possession but some great defence by Novos lead to a scrum in the Novos 22. After a strong Novos scrum the backs decided courageously attack from near their try line, some great passing lead to a break down the right touch line, some great interplay lead to fullback David Marshall running 40 metres to score under the posts, O'keefe added the extras to leave the score at half time 14-12 to the republic.
The second half saw the republics intensity rise. While park had majority of possession, Novos defence stopped park being able to make the most of this possession. When Novos finally got some phases together some more great hands from the backs lead to Matt Bradford expertly finishing in the corner to extend Novos lead to 19-12. Not long after a great break by Blair P Tweedle took possession into parks half, quick ball from the ensuing ruck lead to more great hands by the backs to give Bradford his second try in the corner. A late fight back by park was met valiantly by Novos strong defence to keep them at bay until the final whistle.
While park had the majority of possession, Novos defence was too strong and their clinical finishing when in possession gave Novos a deserved 24-12 win.
