On a day of many late arrivals the Vos travelled to Ponteland in a top of the table Clash of the Titans!!
Pont showed there class with some clinical finishing against the Mighty Republic.
After a very quick warm up and run through we gathered for a quick chat with the ref, he was up North visiting family but loved the game to much to stay away. As if we couldn’t already tell the man with the whistle was clearly a LEVEL 7 referee, rumour has it he’s got a BTEC in catering and a well done sticker from Year 3 he is still going on about…
Kick off had arrived and Harra got us underway. Almost immediately we were on the front foot and going well, an early penalty got us 3 points on the board superbly slotted home by Christian right under the posts (we won’t mention the ABSOLUTE sitter he missed moments later, even Heather Fucking Mills could have done better!!).
After a couple of missed opportunities from simple handing errors and rotten bad luck Ponteland started to get a foot hold in the game and it became an even battle. With 3 chances all game they managed to come away with 3 tries, a very well drilled team who knew exactly when to take their chances.
For the full 80minutes the game was end to end stuff, a real dog fight! Throw in a fair few choice decisions from our LEVEL 7 friend and there you go. Full time and the final score was 15 – 3 to Ponteland.
THE MIGHTY REPUBLIC WILL BOUNCE BACK!!
