Novos made it two from two against Ponteland as the 3's romped home in the second half to win 43-19.

Following 2 impressive wins, there was a feeling of confidence that the Novos could get a result against a tough Ponteland team. Novos made sure to get all the bad passes and dropped balls out of their system in the warmup, with maybe a few too many sore heads from the night before. To the shock of many on the sideline, Novos started well and it was apparent early on there was a game to be had.

It was Ponteland that opened up the scoring, however their lead did not last, as a loose ball kick from the new kid on the block, Jack Thompson, found the path of in form winger Adam Lambert, who was there to score yet another try. Novos applied the pressure following a box kick, where Chris Ward was there to put 7 points on the board. Going into half time it was 14-12 in the favour of the home team.

The game opened up and became very enjoyable to play in. Alex Cokley found himself on the ball a lot and sent a few of the Ponteland players into the next postcode with some very hard carries. James Bass and debutant, Will Richardson, all got themselves on the scoresheet with some very good team tries. It should come as no surprise that Adam Lambert got yet another try to make 10 in 10 for himself. Water is wet, Adam Lambert scores tries.

Novos continued to apply the pressure and the mercurial Christian Selkirk had to get himself in on the action following a kick through and another 5 points for the Vos. The last try went to DOTD regular, Tom Platt, who found himself in front of noveau Ponteland player, Ian Wood, and managed to sneak past and score a try in which he managed to cramp both calves, following a spectacular (and unnecessary) Swan dive, rightly earning himself DOTD. Many contenders for DOTD, with Arthur Wallis finding himself offside one too many times, but it was James Bass who unfortunately was caught out by the ref spending 10 mins in the bin. Special mention to Ben Wilkinson, with the most spectacular and most unnecessary tap tackle attempt as Ponteland scored a consolation try.

MOTM to Alex Watson, who constantly made life hard for the opposition with some fantastic carries. A big thanks to Adam Longstaff, Rohan Cook and Ian Wood who all played for the opposition to make sure it was a competitive game. Novos had a great time on the pitch and had an even better time off the pitch, with celebrations going late into the night. Novos 43-19 Ponteland
