Novos Development team travel north to play Berwick 2s in the Northumberland Junior Shield. On the back of the perfect start to 2015 with 9 straight wins, despite not playing their best rugby the Development team are full of confidence.

A strong squad is named for the bus trip to raid the Scottish boarders.

The front row is full of experience with the man who lives for a bus trip Andrew Croft at loose head. At hooker sees one time back row Cumbria’s own border raider Oliver Dearden. Tight head is filled by Craig Paterson, who will be seen out in the centres creating try’s.

The second row doesn’t have one time pop duo Salt and Pepper who are injured and in the twos. This week’s combination of mobility and power with Kristian Tengelsen returning from a week away and young Kane Deakin his partner in crime, both will offer plenty in the loose.

The back row have been referred to as being experienced, the general consensus is that they should be referred to as the dream team. Blindside sees Captain Ian Pratt AKA Kim Jong Pratt looking to lead the peoples republic to another victory. Openside sees Clive Carlin play for the third week in a row, he will be seen regularly turning the ball over at rucks and kicking the ball in open play. James Desmond is at 8, he will be carrying the ball strongly for 80 minutes from the back of scrum and out on the wing.

At 9 is the enigma that is Christian Selkrik, the self proclaimed game changer will be spending Friday night locked in Joe Carr house in an attempt for him to play a game sober.

Greg Humphreyson is at 10, he will be looking to control the game and slot over penalties when the chance arises.

On the left wing the Development team have their own version of Jonah Lomu, VC2 Joe Carr looking to add to his try haul.

VC1 Mark Hemmings is the team token ginger, he will bring strong running and banter to the midfield.

Tommy Wilson Jnr is at 13, the Berwick centres will be still feeling his big hits next week.

The right wing brings some pace to the part in the form of “Irish” Conor Peniston-Bird, hopefully he turns up to the correct ground and doesn’t need to run to Berwick.

Full back is the irreplaceable David Marshall, who will go on mazy runs set up trys for the wingers and do all of the tackling for the wingers too.

A very strong youthful bench is named.
Forward cover is provided by Shaun O’Connell a young prop/wanabe centre, Second Row cover is provided by Oliver Hallsworth Baines and back row cover by Dom Byrne.
Wing cover is provided by young rapid Nick Byrne and 4 try James Jeffery, who owns a fine pair of eyebrows. John Marshall provides centre cover, he owns a mean m4 pass.
