Tonight was the last training session before the Ladies make a start to their season against Loughborough on Sunday, and so concludes 'pre-season'.

Pre season has been really positive for the ladies with more than 60 different players making it to training including a dozen new to the club. However only one person has made every training session and that is Fanny Fouin who has been awarded the Ladies Pre Season Top Trainer.

Pre-season training concluded this week with great intensity and focus from all which is really positive going into our first league game against Loughborough. There were some difficult decisions to be made in selecting the team this week, which shows everyone has been putting the effort into training and great strength in depth in the squad despite many absentees due to the GNR.

From available records we've only been playing Loughborough over the last two seasons, when they were promoted to Championship North 1 in 2014/15. Over our 5 meetings Novos have won twice, and lost three times, conceding 130 points to 110 points. Last season Novos however won on both occasions that we met, scoring 55 points to 17. Novos made the trip south at a similar time last season, coming home with a 33-12 win.

This weekend also sees Ladies player Helen 'wrecking ball/fearless' Kane take to the field for the British Police against Switzerland. All the best on the wing Helen, and to the ladies team as they take to the road on Sunday.
