The first festival of the season took place at Ryton with 50 girls turning out at u 13 level to play under the new transitional rules
Novos turned up with six girls Taylor,Mollie,Paige,Rachael ,Katie and Evie we also fielded an u15 Courtney
To even squads out we were joined by 4 girls from jarrovians rfc and 1 from cockermouth rfc and they formed an immediate friendship and the norovians were formed
In their 1st outing we faced a whickam side but from the first whistle the superior tackling and passing by the girls took them to a 6-0 win with Mollie and Taylor scoring most of the tries
Next up was a combined Morpeth and Alnwick side which we knew was going to be tough but like the game before our tacking passing an running gave us the edge and the girls ran out winners 4-3 with the winning score being the last play of the game
With heavy rain starting it was decided to play 7 min games
The 3rd team we came up against was Stockton 2 by now the girls confidence was sky high and they were beginning to run riot with tries coming from all areas with the girls winning 6-0
And last up were Stockton's 1st team again the girls gave them no room to play and once again their confidence showed in their play as once again the tries were run in as the game ended an gain with a shut out 5-0
Today these girls did the club the shirt and their parents proud with a fantastic display of rugby and the bonds made with their jarrovian cockermouth teammates was there for all too see
And so ended our 1st outing 21tries scored with only 3 against
So thanks to jarrorvians and cockermouth for a great day and hope to see you at the next festival
To the Novos girls well done we've set the standard lets see if the rest can catch up
