Sunday saw the girls start thier 2014 fixtures at the all seater darlington arena
In perfect conditions for rugby novos fielded 2 sides with a total of 13 girls turning out and along with 5 tynedale additions made a formidable squad
1st draw out of the hat was novos v novos/tynethe girls were split and this was treat as a warm up game with the girls mixed so to make it interesting and ended up with novos winning
next up novos took on a strong combined side from durham and the competition really started with Paige Evie Taylor and Mollie all running in tries with some great running and and support play from Racheal Kirsten and Summer kept durham to only 1 reply
Meanwhile on pitch b novos2 were playing keswick after a slow start the girls got their game together and came away with a draw with Faye producing some great tackling
after a quick turnaround both sides took to the field with novos playing keswick with the girls now in full flow with tries coming from all players on the field and tough tackling reduced the oppositition to 5 players at one stage and the girls won at ease
back to pitch b and the durham combined and Fayes tenatious tackling reduced the oppositition to 6 and the girls held out for a well earned draw and a promicing start for Zoe and Paige in their 1st outing
next up is Stocton away on 23rd march a rearranged fixture from january
