Squad to play Guisborough at home 1245 meet, 1400 kick off.
Johnny McSorley, Sion Gittins, Charlie Lawlor, Matthew Dawson, Jonny Allton, George Bambrick, Louis Matthews, Dylan Gittins, Ian Ramsay, Lewis Chater, Rhys Merlane, Sam Bird, Harry Tankard, Brandon Gilbert, Sam Busby, Tom Dias, Alex Cleminson, Barney Youlden.
Been great to get back out on grass this week at training after a week at Dame Allan's School indoors last week. Mix of attack and defence work done with the focus on patience in both aspects of the game.
Only a couple of changes to the squad that beat Westoe last week as back in comes big Charlie Lawlor at tighthead. In his first season of adult rugby Charlie has made great strides in the tight and around the park. In addition, Jonny Allton comes back into the squad to bolster our scrum further. Jonny has been excellent this season - carrying hard and getting turnovers with some big hits.
In the backs Ian Ramsay returns as we shift Sam Bird to the centres due to the unavailability of player coach Michael Searle. With Ian coming in at 9 this moves talented youngster Rhys Merlane to the wing. It was in this away fixture last season that Rhys made his senior debut.
Guisborough are flying high in second place so it will be a great test to see if we are to remain in the middle of the pack - or perhaps we will continue our recent success and look to push on up the table as we do still have a game in hand.
We will once again welcome Graham Crozier to Sutherland Park as referee. Very lucky to have such an experienced ref available at our level. Both sides should enjoy his desire to let the game flow.
Despite being further down the table compared to our opponents we go into this game full of confidence. Availability has been much improved since the first 3-4 games of the season and we have maintained a perfect record at home. Whilst we are 8th in the league we know that without our 5 point deduction we would be sitting in 3rd with a game in hand on Guisborough. So it is all to play for on Saturday and may the best team win.
In other action the 2's travel to Morpeth with Simeon Archibald, Adam Lambert and Dan Vicary expected to make their debuts for Andy Palmers side. The 3's head to Billingham with Andy Croft and Steve Gittins in the managerial roles. Club debuts for Oran Curley and Adam Buick.
