No cup final date agreed so attention turns to our 2's and 3's who are in cup action this weekend. Awards night as well !

Our first team have been unable to find a friendly after we couldn't reach a suitable agreement with Ponteland regarding the plate final. As such, club attentions turn to our teams that are playing in what is still a huge weekend for the club. The 2nd XV have a home game at 1500 against Tynedale with a win guaranteeing a final on the 27th April, possibly against Medicals 2's. In addition, our 3's have their cup final against Nth Shield's at Northern, also 1500 kick off.

2nd XV to play Tynedale at Sutherland Park, meet 1330 for a 1500 kick off.
Zach Weatherhead, Ben Rodgers, David Medjogbodo-Lawson, Dylan Mills, Theo Mouille, Alex Cokeley, Simeon Archibald, Darren Kelly, Jack Povey, Joe Kapur, Luke Masters, Isaac Robinson, Greg Wills, Phil Howard-Johnston, Zinzan Fraser, Chris Ward, Zac Smith, Greg Abibu, Michael Lehmann, Shaun Stewart

All 21 players selected for the plate final have been excluded from the 2's squad as the attempt to get the win to earn them a final spot.

However, there is still some real quality as Zac Weatherhead, Ben Rodgers and Darren Kelly return. In addition, Joe Kapur, Luke Masters, Chris Ward, Zac Smith, Greg Abibu and Michael Lehmann return in the back after missing the win over Morpeth.

Amazing squad with only two players yet to play for the first team. Amazing to see Darren Kelly back after his Paris marathon heroics last weekend.

3rd XV to play Nth Shields, meet 1250 at Novos for a 1300 photo. Then head to Northern for a 1500 kick off.
James Devenish, Ant McQuillan, Ian Wood, Charlie Dunbavin, Owen Reece-Jones, Finlay Ruddock, Thomas Platt, Tom Storey, Christian Selkirk, Harry Jones, Ross Cleminson, Lex Leonard, Charlie Wilson, Ben Wilkinson, Adam Lambert, Jack Bolam, Sean Hamill, Rohan Cook, Michael Scott, Adam Longstaff, Craig Logue

Some big names return for the final as James Devenish comes back in to provide a great front row. Some 3's back row with Fin Ruddock packing down alongside Thomas Platt and hard carrying Tom Storey. The back line is equally balanced with the experience of Christian Selkirk, the power of Lex Leonard and the pace and ability of Charlie Wilson and Adam Lambert. Three lads in this squad with first team experience.

It will take a squad effort to beat familiar foes in North Shields. However, it was great to see all the lads at training last night working on some basics around continuity.

Speaking of a a squad effort - a massive shout out to the following players who have not been selected for a squad this week. Novos is a big club with some great players, a load of grassroots players as well as some lads who are brand new to rugby this season. Unfortunately, we can't select everyone when it's cup week but we appreciate every single club member.
Alfie Bowman, Ed Thompson, Jack Bolam, Arthur Wallis, Charlie Platts, Oran Curley, Tyler Liversidge, George Poole, Andrew McKenna, Adam Buick and Daniel Sweeney. Not to mention the endless amount of lads who are unavailable this weekend.

Hopefully, we will add the 3's cup to the rest of the awards that will be presented on Saturday night during our Awards Night which starts at 1900.

Should be another great weekend at Novos !
