Apologies for this coming out a little later than ideal, but here is the January update from the board:
- The last two months have been a challenge financially. We continue to pay off various costs from the club house improvements but poor weather has lead to three largely cancelled weekends meaning our takings over the bar have been down. This is at a time costs have increased slightly. A big push is being made as we enter the six nations and we look forward to seeing you all down to watch it at the club.
- Volunteering on the bar has dropped off so this will be pushed once again.
- The men’s section continue to do well although now have no free weekends due to cancellations and the usual ‘interesting’ season planning by the powers that be. We are looking at plans for next season, whatever outcome it may be.
- The women’s are fighting hard and putting up battling performances in the first team. Numbers are good and again plans are being made for next season.
- Sponsorship plans and opportunities are being finalised for next season. Please get in touch if you wish to help, either with putting the opportunities together or sponsoring the club. Potential grants are also being looked at to help with the clubs finances.
- The lift is now fixed and working.
- Fund raising for the girls rugby section is getting underway and will be matched up to £2,500.
As always, please get in touch if you wish to help, have an idea or can see a problem (with a plan to solve it). More hands on the board would be greatly appreciated, although anything you can do to help, big or small, will make a difference to the Club. Volunteering on the bar, around the building and grounds or with coaching, are a very rewarding way to give back to the Club that has given us all so much.
