Match Day 17 - Bishop Auckland (a) - Six To Go

Match Day 17 - Bishop Auckland (a) - Six To Go

Magnus Leask12 Mar - 23:06

Six games to go now till the end of the league season. Every game is big, but the next two away games will have a big say in the final standings.

We head to Bishop Auckland on Saturday in what is a rearranged game from 10th January. Despite the boys believing the was a free day we have a strong side out although we are without our starting front rowers in Tom Taylor, Morgan Scrace.

Ant McQuillin gets a much deserved start after we finished last weeks game with this weeks starting front row. Valuable match time for McQuillin, Sion Gittins and David Medjigbodo-Lawson to work through things to get ready for Saturdays game.

Andrew Kirton and Jonny Cotterill return to the engine room with Kirton returning from a week overseas. Cotterill on the other hand was rested against Hartlepool to ensure he was fresh to get in the trenches at Bishop Auckland.

The back row is unchanged from last week with Louis Matthews at 6 - in great form on both sides of the game. George Bambrick at 7 who looks like he's getting back to his best form. The trio is rounded off in the form of our captain Dylan Gittins. The rampaging back rower has been in great attacking form - line breaks and off loads a real focus.

At 9 and 10 we welcome back Cameron Wallace and Sam Evans - both rested last week to be fully fit for this game. Wallace's been instrumental in our attack this season with high speed, accurate passing game and excellent tactical kicking. Evans will be looking to marshall his troops and use his trusty left foot to good effect.

Same old same old at 12 and 13 with Michael Searle and Harry Tankard set to continue their partnership. They are a well balanced pair with power, pace and are developing into a cohesive midfield pairing.

The back three see the speedsters reunited as Sam Cleife returns after a rest week. He joins Max Cook who has been in good form in the last few weeks. Controlling them will be
club and league top try scorer in Sam Busby. He has been untouchable at times although Bishop Auckland's tighter pitch may give us less space to attack.

Finishers off the sidelines are Johnny McSorley who returns after some time away from the group. His timing could have been better given the hand injury to Morgan Scrace. Huge plus for the group as Rob Baldwin returns to the group after a couple of weeks away with work.He performed very well in this away fixture last season - big yardage and at his physical best. The final shirt sees Josh Farley lying in wait. Farley has been influential in recent games with his kicking game, ability to help us with kick to score opportunities and his leadership qualities.

Some squad given our concerns ten to twelve days ago, but resting several lads last week should hopefully pay dividends.
