Unloveable's Squad for Percy Park - Registration 1100, matches from 1200.
Simeon Archibald, Sion Gittins (Captain) Jamie McCormick, Max Cook, Harrison Allan-Evans, Cam Harvey, Sam Cleife, Brandon Gilbert, Rhys Merlane, Harry Nordenfeldt, Ewan Dryden (guest player) Adam Lambert. Manager - Tom Taylor.
The positives of our extra time semi final defeat last week at the hands of Stamford is that Ben Jubb, Josh Farley and Rob Baldwin have been selected to represent Northumberland Senior Men on Saturday away at Cheshire. In additon, our Park 7's side includes several first team regulars.
The side will be captained by Sion Gittins, who has been in great form during our cup campaign.
As per usual, we use the 7's season to give some talented youngsters an opportunity to play as well as some new lads trying out the club. As such, Harrison Allan-Evans will have his second outing in a 7's squad. The Vos youngster has shone in touring games and the other week at Morpeth in what were his first senior rugby opportunities.
Providing we get county clearance in time we hope to see Harry Nordenfeldt put on a shirt for the first time. An exciting back with pace, power and creativity despite only being 17. He has a bright future in the game a great prospect.
There are two lads new to the club although Jamie McCormick has been training with us since March. The utility player, previously of Blaydon has played 2's, touring games and 7's for us already. Unfortunately, Jamie joined us a week or two after the transfer window otherwise I am sure he would have played 1's by now.
A guest appearance is made by Ewan Dryden - a Berwick player who was seduced in Alvino's a week or two ago by management to have a game of 7's for us. A highly skilled utility back who has enjoyed a couple of sessions with the group. I am sure he will love playing a couple of 7's events for the club - hopefully, one with his mate in the form of Rob Baldwin.
It looks like a quick squad with the likes of Max Cook, Sam Cleife, Adam Lambert, Cam Harvey and Rhys Merlane involved. Whilst forward support will be provided by Simeon Archibald and Brandon Gilbert.
Louis Matthews will be present socially with his boots in hand should someone take a knock. The side will be managed by Tom Taylor - a guru of 7's rugby and master tactician.
Hopefully, we will see you supporting the boys on Saturday, whether that is in the form of exploring the sights of Cheshire to watch the county boys or you head to Park 7's to enjoy a beer and some sevens.
Up the Vos !
