On Saturday the 1st of February 2025, Jack Bolam, a well loved member of the club lost a short and sudden battle with bacterial meningitis after falling ill earlier this week at the age of 19. He would have turned 20 on the 1st of April.
Jack, a much appreciated and well respected young man, was known to many at the club as one of the nicest people you could meet, "A beautiful young soul and a star that will never be forgotten - A teammate, a friend and a brother to all who knew him"
Jack passed away surrounded by his family, remembered by many as a lad who loved his rugby with many fond memories including a cup victory over North Shields last year. "A proper Novo"
Everybody at Novocastrians extend their deepest condolences to the Bolam family and if there is anything the rugby family can do in this difficult time please do not hesitate to reach out.
There is also conversation about hosting an inter-club game at some point in his honour.
Funeral details to follow.
Rest In Peace Jack - 'A proper Novo'
