First team battle to defeat Ryton in the mists!
Novos Battled to only there 2nd win in Division One and were made to work hard by a typically combatitive Ryton side.
In a game Novos had to win to maintain hopes of surviving our first season in Durham and Northumberland Division One, tries from Skipper Ben Merrett and Jonny Ward along with reliable boot of Richie Lamb saw Novos pick up a valued 2 points. As other results went our way it was enough to see Novos out of the relegation places, a position they will now hope to maintain going into the Xmas break.
As a footnote, Richie Lamb became the first Novos player to top 100 points this season and whilst he is the main kicker for the team it should not be forgetten he is also the 2nd top try scorer with 7, just one behind Jonny Ward with 8.
Coops and Lenny declared themselves satisfied with the win and will be hoping to carry this form into next weeks match with old friends, Gosforth.
