Bish Bash Bosh !- trust the Ladies to secure a Novos victory on Saturday

Novos ladies set out with trepidation against the side who tonked them with ease in last season's friendly. Pride and a positive start to the season were at stake and the girls worked their characteristic solid defence in the face of a strong start from Darlington. The ref kept blowing his whistle and a couple of opposition injuries resulted from the Novos 'bosh' factor, which kept the crowd captivated.

In the second half the backs ran some excellent lines and only through solid opposition defence were we denied a score. The forwards effort should be commended and they stole some fantastic balls against a heavier pack in the scrum. Special mention to Jenny Norris who was out of position but rose to the challenge admirably, and our new forwards Gilly, Roz and Laura. Sade at number 9 had a cracking game too, welcome!! Diz was the try scorer after our 2nd half pressure finally paid off with a score from the penalty, and Novos managed to keep up the dee-fence and dominate the remainder of the game. Healing wishes to those who got on the wrong side of the bosh, and see you all at training Weds for more of the same!
