Welcome to the girls’ section of Novocastrians RFC!
We are a fun and inclusive team that currently offers the opportunity to play rugby across four age ranges which this has two –
Under 16s – For those aged up to 15 years
Under 18s – For those aged up to 17 years
*All ages for the 2023/24 season as of 1st September 2023
We train every week on a Thursday at 6pm and Sunday at 11:15am at Sutherland Park and have regular competitive games and fixtures on a Sunday. Even if you have never played rugby before we would love you to come along and give it a try.
Our girls find that playing rugby is a great way to get outside for a run around, meet a bunch of new friends and learn a host of new skills in a positive team environment.
Please note that whilst initially we can lend essential kit, we do recommend that you bring along a fitted gum shield (as this is a contact sport), appropriate clothing for the weather conditions, a drink and an enthusiastic attitude. We will provide a RFU qualified coach and a great team.
The Novos’ girls section provides the further opportunity of playing at a higher level for Northumberland County later in the season, with seven Novos representatives in the 2018/19 season. There is also the opportunity to progress into the Senior Ladies squad who currently play in the North Championship and have produced players that have then go on to international honours.
